Complaint Jar

This is not my idea, but one that I think would be a good idea...
If people had to pay money to be able to complain, how much less complaining would there be? I know I'd be having to pay a lot of money - especially today (I'm having a bad day).
It reminds me of the teacher who has their kids write down "tattles" in a book, and she addresses them once a week (or something like that). It cuts down on the tattling to her, and she is able to manage her classroom more easily.

That's my thought for the day. Perhaps I'll post again later today or tomorrow. Or in a week.

Wonderings

24 days ago, I said I was still alive and a new post was coming soon.
Well, better late than never, although I really have no idea what to write about.

I just figured since I was procrastinating my bed-time, I should do something (semi)productive. So, here we are.

*I have started three different posts, and deleted them because they weren't the 'right' thing to post right now* Humph.

What is really on my mind?

  • I am tired of having this cough that keeps me up all night.
  • I am happy for my cousin and his wife who just announced they will be having twins next May!
  • I am scared for next year and Obamacare to kick in.
  • I am not looking forward to going back to work tomorrow.
  • I am frustrated because my apartment didn't get cleaned (it was the ONLY "to do" item on my list for Thanksgiving Break).
  • I am sad that I have friends in physical pain and there is no explanation for them (as of yet) as to why they are hurting.
  • I am super glad I got to see my nephews on Saturday, but sad because I didn't get to see their mom or dad (their aunt dropped the boys off at my mom's house).
  • I am needing to start sending off my Christmas cards.
  • According to a fortune cookie fortune, 'your laugh and enthusiasm pleases those around you' - does it really? Or does it just annoy them? LOL
  • Looking around my apartment at all the 'stuff' I have here... I am by no means a hoarder, but I wonder if I subconsciously feel more lonely than I thought I did. I own a LOT of books and movies!!
  • I have friends that I have not talked to in a long time, and I feel bad that I haven't talked to them.
  • I wonder if I really ever will be married and have kids.
  • I am sad that kids these days are lacking in respect, dependability, courtesy, loyalty, good moral ethics, good work ethics, etc.
  • Was I really supposed to be a left-handed person? Since, scientifically speaking, the side of your body that you use more should be bigger than the other side... right? I'm right handed, but the left side of my body is bigger. In my family, anyone else who is right handed, the right side of their bodies is bigger. Maybe I'm just more messed up than I thought I was.
  • I miss my friends who live out of state.
  • I really should be going to bed.
  • I need to start writing in my journal again - and I need to start 'digitizing' my journals (yep. and that will be a task!)
  • I need a haircut.
  • I am so uber excited for Les Mis to come out on Christmas!! Hot guys singing?? Sign me up!
I really will try to get back on the ball and post more frequently, with pictures and fun stories! I don't even know who reads my blog anymore. Anyway...
'Til Next Time

Happiness Is...

The other day, one of my cute kindergarten friends came up to me after school and handed me this:
(I blocked out her name for privacy)
(Picture on the back)
This bracelet she also gave to me. She made it and was very excited to see me wearing it the next day. I actually have worn it twice to school now, and will wear it again :)
What a fun and unexpected surprise! I am lucky to have this job and to be able to influence so many kids (hopefully all for the better). Happy Day!!

Not Sure

So... Blogger has switched over to the "new" layout... and I find it is more confusing than the previous one.
I don't know how I feel about it. I don't like things to change (don't get me started on Facebook changing every time you turn around).
I'm sure that posting things will be easier, but reading my 'dashboard' page is way more confusing to me than it was before.
*ugh
What are your thoughts?

Bye Grammy Myrtle!

Laura's grandma passed away on Sunday. I knew her, and was friends with her. She was a great lady and I have been blessed to know her. She will be greatly missed. Love you, Grammy!! See you later, Alligator :)
Sending my thoughts, love, and prayers to the other members of her family who I am friends with: Laura, Linda, Leisha, Rhonda, and Vickie. Love you all!

Myrtle Nellie Thurston Gillett Weaver passed away at her home in Tualatin on Sept. 16, 2012. She was born June 28, 1927 to Arvin Ima Thurston and Maude Hazel Cook Thurston in Missoula, Mont. They relocated to Burley, Idaho where she grew up and graduated from Burley High School in 1944. She married Fred Don Gillett in the Salt Lake City, Utah Temple on Sept. 12, 1944 and they were together until his death Sept. 10, 1988. She later married Horace "Dee" Weaver and was widowed a second time when he passed away Nov. 21, 1995. Myrtle was a life long member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Her biggest joys in life were her children, grandchildren and serving in her church. She was an ordinance worker at the Portland, Oregon LDS Temple for over 20 years. She also served as a Primary President and Relief Society President among her many callings. You couldn't find a better mother, grandmother, sister, wife or friend than she. Her sense of humor, infectious laugh and smiling face will be missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her children, Cindy Nebergall, Vickie Brooks, Gregg Gillett, Rhonda Guymon and Ken Gillett; sisters, Velma Beale and Hazel Peterman; 16 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brother, Gary Thurston. Her funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 21, 2012 at the Tualatin Stake Center, 22284 Grahams Ferry Road, Tualatin.
