Small Catch Up

I missed work yesterday because I woke up feeling like I was on a mountain top, looking down (Vertigo). It lasted all day (mostly), so today I am putting up pictures from the last two days.
This picture makes me happy. One of the girls, while cleaning her room, decided to put all this colored tape on her pant leg. It was so something I would do, I had to get a picture of it ;)

Yesterday morning, when my mom took me to the doctor for the dizziness, I also got my stitches out. It didn't feel too wierd... but here's the top of my foot.

The bottom of my foot - it's not so swollen anymore and every day it gets easier to walk with my entire foot.

In between my toes. This picture makes it look like there's a huge gash, but there's really not. The doctor said my foot healed really well and to just keep it all dry. Flip flops, baby! By order of the doctor :)

With summer now upon us, my posting may be few and far in between during the summer. I hope everyone who follows my blog will check back often and I will update as often as I am able. HAPPY SUMMER!!!!!!

Redecorating

So a while back I posted pictures of things I'd hung on the wall in my apartment. Yesterday, it changed just a little bit and for lack of anything better to post today, I will post that picture.

The wall used to have only one frame, with the lion and cow pictures. Now there are the two frames. I think it's pretty. Maybe some day my roommates will actually WANT to get pictures taken together to put up in those frames. If not, then the pictures will continue to be my pictures, and people who visit will continue to think it is strange that there are no pictures of the three of us hanging around.

Pictures... *Caution, May Be Considered Graphic

After a long day of sitting while I was at work (LOL), I was ready to see what my stitches looked like. I unwrapped my toes and here is the top of my foot. Not too much swelling (if any at all yet...), all the dark spots are the stitches.

This is the bottom of my foot. It will hurt for a while to walk on it, I think. It reminds me of the stitches on Frankenstein's neck... hahaha

This is the 'in between' view... I did a really good job at slicing up my foot. Luckily, when I changed the gauze and even pulled apart my toes (to get this picture) it didn't hurt. I kept waiting for some pain, but none came. I go back next Thursday (the last full working day of school) to get the stitches out.

First Time For Everything...

How lucky is this? I was at work yesterday, helping get stuff done and I got cut in between my toes. One of my friends, who is a nurse, happened to see me (unbeknownst to her) and I showed her what happened. She looked, sighed, and said I needed to go get stitches. I've never had stitches in my life. I now get to take stitches off my "never happened to me" list. Haha.
Yee haw.
My parents were contacted (I didn't have my phone with me) and they picked me up to take me to IHC. I walked in, filled out the paperwork, they took me right back to the room, cleaned me up, numbed the area, stitched away, wrapped it up, and updated my tetanus shot. I was done about an hour after it happened.
The only picture I can post right now is my wrapped toes. When I change the bandage today, I can take a picture of the stitches and my toes...

It wasn't really painful... I didn't feel needle pricks, or pin pricks, but I'm starting to feel the top side of my foot and it's a little weird. We shall see how I feel as the day progresses. Wish me luck!

Dance Your Cares Away

Every other year, we have a dance festival at the school. Last Friday, we had our dance festival and it was a lot of fun! All the grade levels learn a dance, then we all meet on the back field and dance for the rest of the school and parents who want to come watch. The kids love it.
I'll try to remember the dance each grade did, but no promises :)
Our Kindergarten classes did the Chicken Dance. It is my most favoritest dance ever!!

The First Grade did some Cowboy dance.

Second Grade did the Chinese Ribbon Dance. (Somehow I only ended up with one picture of Second Grade... sad)

Third Grade did the Cowboy Polka - I remember learning that dance when I was in Third Grade :)

Our Preschool classes did the Tu-da-ta Dance. Very Fun!

Fourth Grade did their dance from the Hope of America. The United States of America.

Fifth Grade did the Twist.

Sixth Grade did the Electric Slide - another dance I remember learning when I was in Sixth Grade :)

Such a fun 'end of school' party that we all look forward to! The faculty and staff normally also do the Hokey Pokey, but the principal was gone this year, so we didn't have to do it :)

Birth Order Predictor

I won't say I'm addicted to these quizzes... but they are fun and some of them are interesting enough to me to post.
This says I am likely a first born... Well, news flash... I AM the first born :) At least the way I think is fitting with their results, otherwise there could be some problems. Ha.

You Are Likely a First Born

At your darkest moments, you feel guilty.

At work and school, you do best when you're researching.

When you love someone, you tend to agree with them often.

In friendship, you are considerate and compromising.

Your ideal careers are: business, research, counseling, promotion, and speaking.

You will leave your mark on the world with discoveries, new information, and teaching people to dream.

Lesson #4

Yesterday I taught about Establishing the Cause of Zion... a relatively easy topic. I had read my lesson quite a few times, and had read through the Conference Issue of the Ensign, so I felt ok about teaching. I stood up (not nearly - or at all - nervous as I had been the three previous months) and began my lesson.
I started out by playing "build a sister" - as opposed to hang man, when the correct letters were guessed, I drew the parts of the 'sister'... it was funny. Then I proceeded with the lesson. My roommate told me afterward that I seemed less nervous and scatterbrained than previous lessons, but in my head I could not gather my thoughts at all! I knew what I wanted to say, but I could not form the correct words to say what I was thinking. I felt like my brain was scrambled. Ha.
Aside from my brain getting in the way, I think the lesson went pretty well. Hopefully next month I'll be able to keep my thoughts organized and clear. We shall see...

What Big Cat Are You?

I took this quiz a couple weeks ago and got this answer (black panther). I took it again today to post it on my blog and got a different answer (jaguar)... All my answers were the same (or so I thought). Anyway, I'm posting both of them. Interesting how they both kinda fit :)

You Are a Black Panther

You see through people. You understand others' motives and plans.

You have a knack for predicting the future. You just know what people are going to do.

People are attracted to you. You are naturally able to influence other people's thoughts.

You have the charisma to be a beloved guru or dictator. It's all about how you handle it.

You Are a Jaguar

You have a knack for reforming, balancing, and even healing people.

You see the good in everyone, and you help bad people learn to be better.

Even though you connect to people, you can't help but feel separate from everyone else.

You often feel like you are on the outside looking in, even with your closest family members and friends.

100th Post!!!

For my 100th post I decided to make it an Anniversary Post... Two years ago, my Aunt Pam and I went through the temple together (well, at the same time). It was a special event for both of us, especially because it was her birthday! Not many people (to my knowledge) get to say they went through the temple with their aunt for their first time. I've always loved my aunt, but this has brought us closer together. We celebrated on Friday, by going to the Jordan River Temple (my aunt's fiance came with us), and afterward eating out at La Puenta.
Good times, good memories, and many more to come. Love you, Aunt Pam! Happy Two Year Anniversary (Oh! And Happy Birthday Today!!)

Painful

Summer = Flip Flops = Sunburned Feet
This picture is hard to see just how red my feet are, but you get the idea.
I've been wearing my flip flops all week to get my tan going.
I'm wearing shoes and socks today. My feet are doing ok with the rubbing of my socks and shoes, as long as I don't walk around a lot (yeah right!).
Nice tan to come... LOL
