Bye Grammy Myrtle!

Laura's grandma passed away on Sunday. I knew her, and was friends with her. She was a great lady and I have been blessed to know her. She will be greatly missed. Love you, Grammy!! See you later, Alligator :)
Sending my thoughts, love, and prayers to the other members of her family who I am friends with: Laura, Linda, Leisha, Rhonda, and Vickie. Love you all!

Myrtle Nellie Thurston Gillett Weaver passed away at her home in Tualatin on Sept. 16, 2012. She was born June 28, 1927 to Arvin Ima Thurston and Maude Hazel Cook Thurston in Missoula, Mont. They relocated to Burley, Idaho where she grew up and graduated from Burley High School in 1944. She married Fred Don Gillett in the Salt Lake City, Utah Temple on Sept. 12, 1944 and they were together until his death Sept. 10, 1988. She later married Horace "Dee" Weaver and was widowed a second time when he passed away Nov. 21, 1995. Myrtle was a life long member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Her biggest joys in life were her children, grandchildren and serving in her church. She was an ordinance worker at the Portland, Oregon LDS Temple for over 20 years. She also served as a Primary President and Relief Society President among her many callings. You couldn't find a better mother, grandmother, sister, wife or friend than she. Her sense of humor, infectious laugh and smiling face will be missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her children, Cindy Nebergall, Vickie Brooks, Gregg Gillett, Rhonda Guymon and Ken Gillett; sisters, Velma Beale and Hazel Peterman; 16 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brother, Gary Thurston. Her funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 21, 2012 at the Tualatin Stake Center, 22284 Grahams Ferry Road, Tualatin.
