Update Post #2 of 2 - Hiking

On June 21st, I went hiking with my friend Jamie. We hiked in Alpine up to the Hamongogs. I'd been on that hike before, but it was 12 years ago (and I was in much better shape then than I am now!) We saw a few lizards, lots of pretty flowers, and we just enjoyed the scenery altogether.

Such a difference in colors... I couldn't pass up the shot :)

Looking down to the valley
After we got to First Hamongog, we ate lunch, then I stayed there and Jamie hiked up to Second Hamongog - I had blisters on my heels and knew if I tried to go I'd end up in A LOT of pain. I walked around the meadow and took random pictures of things :)

Here is a view while we hiked down

On July 7th, I went hiking with Becky and her kids. We started up the trail to Horsetail Falls (also in Alpine).

Again, such pretty scenery

We made it to "the rock" and didn't go any further - and that's ok :) It gives us something to work toward for our next hike!

I climbed on top of the rock and took this picture

On our way down after lunch and playing

I had stopped to take a picture of the thistle, and this butterfly landed right on it. Perfect shot :)

Great camp pictures! I was camp director my first 3 years of teaching. Then I was in the Stake YW in 1989, and the entire decade of the 90s. I've been to camp!
