Let it be known: today, I went outside of my comfort zone and went with Leisa (a co-worker) to hang out with her and some of her friends. For anyone who really knows me, this is a big thing! I am glad I went :) I was warmly welcomed and felt an immediate liking to the others. *I just missed out on the memo about wearing brown shoes... hmmmm. LOL.
I went to Leisa's and then we drove to Jessi's, where she and Jamie (Hope I spelled it right) were waiting for us. We then all drove together to Salt Lake to Gilgal Gardens. What an amazing place! It was a little different, but I really liked it.

While we were at the gardens, one of Jessi's friends, Kiki (Don't know how to spell her name) met up with us. Here is a picture of all of us together. And yes, that is Joseph Smith's face on the body of a sphinx.
From the gardens, we drove a short way to a park that had a Virgin Mary tree (I didn't get a good picture, sorry), and a playground with this interesting teeter-totter. The bars went to opposite sides (note the tan bars and the green bars).
After a short time at the park, we drove to a place that had been featured on the Food Network's "Diners, Drive Ins, and Dives"... Ruth's Diner. We had to wait for almost an hour to be seated, but the area surrounding was beautiful, so we walked around while we waited.
We enjoyed our dinners - I had a Reuben sandwich; one of my absolute favorites!! - and came home. We talked a lot, laughed a lot, and made plans for another get-together (at least, I hope they were serious when they said I could come again next time - but I'm sure they were). It was a very lovely evening, and I'm glad that I was a) invited to go, and b) decided to go.
Hooray for more friends!! :)
P.S. I know I still need to do a "catch up" post from something... my new apartment? summer parties? I can't remember. Anyway, I will figure it out and get it done :)
