End of Calendar and Weekend with Rachael

Here are the rest of my calendar pictures (finally) :) Now I just gotta figure out how best to use it. Lol.

September

The picture on top is of a moth that decided to visit the school during recess. You can't tell from the picture (because of how I cut it), but it was as long as the brick was high (so... 3"?) He just sat on the wall and soaked in the sun. He didn't stay long, but he was definitely the hit of recess while he was there!
The bottom picture is of the waterfall at Cascade Springs up American Fork Canyon. I love waterfalls, and this one is no different. I could sit and stare at waterfalls for a very long time and not get bored.

October

I chose only one photo for October - it is a picture taken from Halloween. The office staff like to have Halloween themes; this year was Western. From left to right: Lisa, our head secretary; Cami, our new principal; Klara, I can't remember what she does; Dean, our head custodian; Janay, our lead sweeper; Janet, our assistant secretary.

November

Top left is a picture I took on road 056. The contrast between the blue sky and the gold leaves was amazing. This picture does not do justice to the scene.
Top right is a picture I took while I was walking to work. There are so many beautiful things I see, I wish I could get a picture of all of them :)
Bottom is a picture of fall leaves on a tree in my backyard on a day it was raining. The water seemed to really bring out the vibrancy in the colors. Here again, the photo just does not do the leaves justice.

December

Last, but not least, we come to the end of my calendar pictures. Top left is my former roommate, Allison, and her baby, Boone. I was lucky for the chance to see them while they were in Utah for Christmas.
Top right is a tree in my backyard that, incidentally, is the same tree which provided the leaves for the picture earlier...
Bottom is our office staff on the last day of school for the year. Janet, Lisa, Cami, and myself. I feel like the jolly green giant standing by them, but Janet and Lisa are squatting just a little... and the three of them are wearing matching socks that I gave them for Christmas - it's hard to see that, but I wanted to pass around my sock-wearing awesomeness ;)

And here is the stamp on the back. Not very creative... but that's me for ya!

Last weekend, I was able to have Rachael stay with me while her family was out of town. I picked her up from school on Friday and had her until Monday night. We had many fun activities:

Pizza Pie Cafe
(this is a true laugh picture)

yummy dessert pizza

being silly after we ate

Saturday night, we made corn bread muffins

Voila!

Sunday dinner, cheesy ham and hash browns

YUM!!

Monday, being Valentine's Day, Rachael and I wore matching socks ;) See, I'm spreading more of my awesome sock-ness around! Hahaha.

After school, we went bowling

First game scores:

Second game scores:

That night, we played Just Dance 2. It was a lot of fun!
It was fun having Rachael over for the weekend. I learned a lot of things, and have decided that maybe at this time of my life, it's ok that I'm not a mom. It is still the deepest desire of my heart, but I can wait until the time is right.

Fun-ness and More Calendar Pics

I love my friends!! Susan and I have been friends for a very long time - she was the Young Women's President when I was in her ward. Our birthdays are two days apart, so we always try and get together and celebrate. I sure love this lady!

Hooray for more calendar pics!
June

Top left is me standing in the water at Bear Lake. It was so cold... but I felt like I needed to say I'd been "in the water" on my camping trip ;) Top right is a beautiful shot of a sunset at Bear Lake. The chipmunk we (Stacey and I) called Pepper. The bottom left picture is of the north mountain in Alpine - hiking up to the Hamongogs. Bottom right is me with my dear high school friend, Amy.

July

Both background pictures on the left are from a camping trip I went on with Becky and her family. The bottom picture is the southern end of Utah County. The top right picture is a "happened to get a good shot" of a butterfly on a thistle. Bottom right is a picture of flowers in my yard. The top middle pictures are of Robert and Kati - they were jumping on a trampoline and I just glued the pictures silly like that. Middle left is me with my two newest nephews, Madden and Logan - they are about a month and a half apart in age. Bottom middle is me and Becky being ourselves and making silly faces.

August

Background pictures are the Portland, Oregon Temple (top left) and the Seattle, Washington Temple (bottom right). Top right is me, Gram Myrtle (Laura's Grandma), and Laura (my friend who I visited in Washington). Middle picture is me with Laura's kids - I somehow ended up with both of them on my back - but they are great kids and I sure miss being there! Bottom left is me with Kati and Crystal - we were being silly after we'd gone to the dinosaur museum at Thanksgiving Point.

I'll get the other pages done this weekend (hopefully). On a 'brighter' note - I bought two new pillows last night for my couch. This is what they look like:
I like the splashes of bright color thrown in. It really adds that needed brightness and color to my "cave" of an apartment :) Don't get me wrong, I love my "cave" - it is just dark and seems to be all the same color. I've slowly started adding things over the years... the longer I'm there, the more I like it!!

Gettin' My Craft On #2

Here are more pictures of my calendar (finally). I'm not done yet, but I'm getting closer :)
February

The picture on the top left is from my brothers' scout something-or-other... and I am really bad at remembering if that's an eagle or a hawk - probably an eagle. Shoot.
The picture on the top right is an 'inside' shot of my umbrella.
Bottom left is me and my friend, Amy Lundquist. She has been the director of plays at the elementary for the last number of years. I help out with playing the music (many of you may remember my play posts). Last Feb/March we did a play called Choc-A-Block and I dressed as Willy Wonka. Good times.
Bottom right is me and my nephew Jarren and niece Chloe. Candid shot that I absolutely love!

March

Far left is our former principal, David Stephenson. For his birthday, he was given this Nacho Libre costume. Being a good sport, he put it on and walked thru the school wearing it! The teachers got a big kick out of it - his kids were embarrassed.
Middle picture is bird tracks in the snow. I don't know why, but any time I see bird tracks in the snow, or sand, it just makes me happy.
Bottom right, I don't know what kind of tree that is, but the little fuzzy things on it looked warm and inviting...
Top right, I love monkeys! One of the kids at school brought this one and gave me permission to photograph it.

April
Background pictures: I think the only one not from my yard is the top left. These are my nieces and nephews as of April of last year - Jarren on the left, Chloe on the bottom - blowing bubbles, Avery and Jordan in the middle with me. I have the cutest kids in my family!!

May

Background flowers are from my yard.
Background waterfall is in AF Canyon.
Background temple is Logan.
Behind the flowers are Linda Knowles, myself, and Pam Campbell. We went to the Logan temple together for Aunt Pam and my 3rd temple anniversary.
The cute boys are Jarren, and his new baby brother, Madden.
Grandma H and I are at the bottom - this was at her 80 birthday party.
I'm gonna keep working on the rest of the calendar, and I'll post photos when I get more done. Thanks for sharing!!

Gettin' My Craft On #1

This is going to be a multiple part series... but I'm not sure how multiple yet. Hahaha. Last November, I went up to Logan to visit my friends Laura and Linda (just like the past couple years) and our crafty item this year was a calendar. It was already printed and put together, but we got to stamp the pages and decorate them how we would.
Because of time constraints, I was only able to stamp my pages, and I am just now starting to finish it. I have printed out pictures from 2010 for each month...
Here's January:

Here's a closer shot of the page itself.

And an even closer shot of the three pictures I used.
The girl with me is a former student. We liked to "dress alike" - so here we are both wearing our "I (heart) Recess" clothes :)
The picture behind my head is one I took in my front yard. The water had dropped down and froze to create this three-tiered icicle, if you will.
The other picture is one I took on the playground. I don't have the other pictures printed off yet (which is why I don't know how many of these posts I'll be doing - LOL), but when I do and they are on my calendar, I'll be for sure posting pictures!!
