Just Bugcause

I bought some new shoes the other day... the last time I bought new shoes was a few years ago. I don't spoil myself very often with new clothes or shoes, and I came upon these shoes quite by accident. I had been looking on line for orange safety vests and saw an ad with these shoes on them. I went to the store that evening and bought them. They were on sale for $17 - normally $40. I wore them to work yesterday and didn't get any blisters!! I can't wait to go hiking in them and truly break them in :)

This "bug" was outside my front door. We are not sure how it got down all the stairs, or even how it died, but it is big and ugly and I wanted a picture of it :) I put my hand next to it, for size reference. That is the pinky finger on my left hand.

I also found this grasshopper on the wall outside my door. I put my left hand up for size reference - that's my thumb. I had my hand a good many inches away, because I didn't want to startle him and make him jump on me, haha.
I am not at all sure where all these big bugs are coming from, but they are kinda grossing me out. I have also noticed an influx of large spiders... eeewwww. I can't remember having to 'watch my head' before, but I do now all the time so that I'm not surprised by a creepy crawly on my head or back. *spine chill.
